Job seekers sometimes feel that they are capable of searching through the various sources for job listings by themselves, without the aid of other organizations or websites like LawCrossing. This is a big mistake, as it usually results in overlooking vast segments of the industry that the job seeker might be interested in gaining employment in. LawCrossing is a group that has created and now houses the largest database of legal job listings in the world and hosts that database on their website for all job seekers to utilize, for free. LawCrossing’s brilliant staff gleans these listings from over 250,000 legal employers so no particular section of the legal industry is underrepresented. Instead of just searching for listings at separate law firms, they also find and compile listings from corporations, government offices, and public interest organizations. LawCrossing does not ask companies to pay fees to place their listings in their database, as this would only serve to shrink the choices of active legal job listings, which harms the job seeker by limiting his possibilities.

LawCrossing employs about 150 people who spend days searching for various sources for legal listing, including local and regional print sources and online job boards. They also search through 10,000 employer’s websites on a routine basis. The amount of legal listings at LawCrossing cannot be approached by any other database or website. Job seekers benefit from having thousands of job openings listed in one database and they have the added benefit of being able to monitor the market.
